There are areas where no active mobile phones are allowed. Whether in aircraft, hospitals, petrol stations, prisons and also in other security zones, their use is undesirable or prohibited. Even in the field of industrial espionage, mobile phones are often used. And there are only few ways to prevent this legally. In order to inhibit the use of mobile phones in such areas, some kind of surveillance must be realized. The PKI 4125 immediately detects a transmitting mobile phone in a circumference of 10 to 30 m of open air (depending on the environment) and promptly signals the transmission activity in the surroundings to the user. Adjustable signalling as well as silent vibration alert are possible. The detection sensitivity is also adjustable. All mobile phones in the GSM 900 / 1800 and UMTS network are identified. False alarms due to other radio emissions are almost excluded. Detection of the mobile phone is possible in the following situations. Actively during phoning, sending SMS, etc., when changing from stand-by mode, when changing the mains supply, in stand-by mode of the telephone upon location update. As soon as a burst (transmission pulse) of a GSM/UMTStelephone is detected in the detectable surroundings of the PKI 4125, an alert is activated. All detected activities are additionally recorded in the device and can be evaluated later.
